TRENDS at the School Level

TRENDS has the capability to easily and efficiently manage your data. It produces a large number of reports and charts to help you view it, understand it, and share it. Here are just a few of the ways that you might use TRENDS for positive change in your school.

Example report: Identify number and type of incidents by race/ethnicity

This chart has been produced to answer the questions, "How many incidents of each type have occured this week by ethnic group?" In response to this report, school administrators can begin to identify and address the factors that contribute to the students' misbehavior.

Example of a school-level graph: Average daily attendance by race/ethnicity from January 17-21, 2001.

Examples of other reports for school-level analysis

  • Does any single ethnicity receive more suspensions for insubordination than other races/ethnicities?

  • Before annual state testing, did referrals for misbehavior increase for SPED, 504, and/or low-SES students?

  • What is the frequency of staff-reported concerns regarding withdrawal or depression by grade level?
