Analysis
TRENDS works at every level (district, school, classroom, and individual) to ensure that you have a full picture of important trends and patterns. It also gives you the specificity to ensure that no student is falling through the cracks.
- Automatically generates adaptable charts and reports so you can view, analyze, and use your data
- Analyzes multiple interacting variables—Incidents by location, time, and grade level; Incidents by race/ethnicity and referring staff member; and Commendations by month and grade level, for example
- Answers questions such as: Is the playground safe and fun? Is any group of students being bullied? Are Mondays harder for students? Is any student not receiving recognition for efforts and accomplishments?
- Provides online surveys to gauge staff, parent, and student perceptions regarding safety, discipline, and school climate
An RTI Approach
Your data management system should help you incorporate PBIS. This means tracking not only negative behavior and interactions with students, but also positive ones. TRENDS supports PBIS by:
- Tracking negative behavior in greater depth than other systems
- Tracking Commendations so students can be recognized for their positive behaviors and teachers can monitor their positive interactions with students
- Creating awards, certificates, letters, or emails about each student’s positive behaviors
- Providing easy access to RTI interventions from Dr. Randy Sprick’s best-selling Teacher’s Encyclopedia of Behavior Management: 100 Problems, 500 Plans (Learn more)
Set goals and monitor progress
After using TRENDS to identify goals for improvement (at every level: district, school, classroom, or with an individual student) and link to intervention plans where appropriate, educators can then use TRENDS to track progress toward these goals.
